What are the strengths of this product?

Most valuable is its usage-based reporting. Also helpful are its Boolean-based filters and the logical layout of KeyConfigure.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

The KeyReporter dashboard has limited configurability and there sometimes appears to be conflicting results in the reports that are returned. The user manual is very complex - a simplified version would be helpful.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

I think a third party integration and implementation service would be a wise business move. I would suggest making the widget-based reports the default view for users.

What are the strengths of this product?

Sassafras has the best customer service that I've experience with any software vendor. The cost of their produce is also a strong positive.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

KeyReporter their web based reporting tool can be slow at times.

What are the strengths of this product?

Cross platform. Drag & drop capabilities. User-friendly GUI. Manages concurrent licensing, reports usage, and tracks purchases. Great reporting ability -- can even export data to a database for additional data crunching.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

It may try to do too much -- we tend to only use it for license/software metering & usage info. Not all of our purchase processes/records are entered or can be imported into the software because our Purchasing Department requires using other systems. It would probably make our life easier if we were able to use all portions of the software -- we just currently don't.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

It does everything that we need. I'm not a true "power user", but it's done everything we've required of it.

What are the strengths of this product?

We've been using an old version (6.), which has generally met our needs. We are currently upgrading to version 7.2. and looking forward to many of the new features, especially the "Dashboard" as well as the asseet management type functions.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

Only thing I could think of would be more training type courses.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

None at this time.

What are the strengths of this product?

Very powerful and comprehensive asset management capabilities Real time change implementation. Clear user interface Intuitive connection between management screens for computer, purchase, product, policy. Outstanding support from Sassafras ! From sales to support they are always 'on the ball'. Pro active customer support.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

In later versions the 'allow universally unless denied' is less efficient [for us] than the previous 'deny unless allowed'. We appreciate that this is more flexible but we preferred the previous method. Some help areas of the website have too much text. While we appreciate the need for as much information as possible, sometimes bullet points would have more impact.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

We would find a 'warranty expiry' field in the computer section to be beneficial to us. To be able to 'drag and drop' documents from emails into the Purchase section on Windows. Mobile device management.

What are the strengths of this product?

Easy to implement and use, great reporting, can provide really useful information in easy to understand format in terms of both hardware and software usage.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

Not really a weakness as any system needs resourcing, but running the system effectively requires ongoing capacity to manage the constant feed of data. Without constant attention, data can grow and get out of control very quickly.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

As the use of mobility devices such as tablets and smartphones continues to expand, will need to consider how these devices can be included in K2 system.

Comprehensive software asset management system with the inclusion of a very suitable dashboard environment. The system is very strong at hardware detection, software discovery, monitoring and management.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

The lack of a local office with technical support. The product is very complex and unique and is very hard to learn from scratch.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

Training on best practice, courses and/or documentation.

What are the strengths of this product?

K2 is the only application I've found which provides both asset management and license metering. This allows us to purchase concurrent use licenses for use on our network. It's other strengths include the ability to customize usage policies, robust reporting for both asset management and usage monitoring, the ability to integrate with our Active Directory environment to allow customization of licensing and usage, and the ability to maintain license compliance by relating assets to purchases.

What are the weaknesses of this product?

There's a bit of a learning curve, but Sassafras support is outstanding and extremely responsive. The help documentation could be better organized and the search function is not very robust, but everything is in there that you need, it just sometimes takes a while to find it.

What features would you add if you had the choice?

Perhaps integration with our hardware asset management system.
